Young People in East Grinstead Get Serious about Human Rights
December 22, 2005
During East Grinstead's Christmas Shopping Event, "Professor Crump" took a break from "clowning around" to sign a petition demanding full implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the UK.
Young Scientologists from East Grinstead manned booths to let their neighbours know that demanding equal rights, peace and dignity for all people is "no laughing matter."
"Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard once stated, ‘Human rights must be made a fact not an idealistic dream,'" said David Hodkin, Youth Human Rights Coordinator for Scientology churches in the UK. "That is why we are out here asking people to support the UDHR."
To commemorate of the 57th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Churches of Scientology around the world have launched petition drives as part of an international campaign called "Making Human Rights a Global Reality."
Copies of the petition can be signed online at http://new.petitiononline.com/yhri2005/petition.html
