Youth for Human Rights International 2nd Annual Youth Summit Delegate Profile: Mexico
October 1, 2005
For the last two years, twenty-year-old Allen Hernandez has been working on human rights issues especially in the area of abuses in the mental health field. He has worked with the Citizens Commission on Human Rights in his own country in support of this cause. This includes giving over 35 seminars on these abuses of this field and how to prevent it, hosting exhibits on such abuses and meeting with local officials to give them true facts.
Mr. Hernandez stated "I want to participate in this summit because I want to do something effective in my own country. At this summit I will get the opportunity to learn what is the ideal with regards human rights. At this summit, as a united group of youth we can come together to develop this ideal and spread it around the world."
Young leaders from 30 countries arrive in Los Angeles this week to participate in the 2nd annual Youth for Human Rights International Summit, which takes place this year at Jordan High School in Los Angeles. The summit has been co-organized by Jordan High School and Youth for Human Rights International. It is being held October 1-3, 2005.
